Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Hello loveys!  Welcome to my new improved (but still in progress) blog at thelittlecanoe.com!  I've realized how important it is to streamline my online persona.  The old blog name (Little Bird Big City) was something I came up with years ago before I ever started my Little Canoe business.  It also coincided with living in New York City, so the title seemed appropriate back then.  But now I've moved on.  Not that Portland isn't a city.   I just wouldn't necessarily classify it as a BIG city.  So the name change was long overdo.  Now that I've bought my new domain name, all my traffic should be directed automatically to the new location.  Hooray for you!  So don't stop reading!  Infact, I've made it even easier for you to share what you love on my blog by adding a facebook "like" button and a "tweet" button at the bottom of every post.  Go ahead, share the love!
Other new additions include a menu bar right underneath the header easily directing curious readers to my website, shop and contact information.  Go ahead, get click happy!

In other news, I've been working my tail off getting ready for this upcoming show at Union/Pine:

It's going to be so much fun!  The opening is on April 6th from 8 until Midnight.  If you live in the Portland area, please come down and have a peek!  We'll be drinking wine, listening to music, and schmoozing until they kick us out.  Hoorah!  Plus, you wouldn't want to miss the artwork of the lovely and talented Kate Pugsley and Emily Katz, would you?

Here's a glance at one of the pieces I'll be hanging for this show.  It's called "Together."

Two old fellows bound together by facial hair.....for all eternity.  I'm still trucking along with the vintage vibe in my work these days, and I'm really enjoying it.  There's something warm and familiar about it.  I have this new piece this available as a print in my etsy shop, so have a look!

And of course, there are a whole slew of Society6 products available for your perusing enjoyment.

Speaking of Society6, they've rolled out a brand new product for us to slap our images onto:

Here are just a few examples of the many you can choose from....

Sources tell me that the quality of the cards is very good.  I look forward to ordering some of my own quite soon!

Lastly, I want to share this beautiful video with you.  Created with over 12,000 pieces of construction paper with no special effects.  Quite incredible. And the song is very lovely too.  Enjoy.
